About

Scott Thiede is a Los Angeles based LGBTQ writer and improviser from Bethesda, Maryland. He has a BA in Economics and Communication from Villanova University where he also competed as a swimmer, training for the 2012 USA Olympic Trials. He decided to pursue a career in comedy after mistaking 30 Rock as a docuseries.

Scott moved to Los Angeles

in 2013 and began taking classes at the UCB Theater in 2014, and has been an avid performer of sketch and improv comedy since. You can see him perform at the UCB Theater with his Mess Hall team Almost Midnight and formerly with Mess Hall team FANCY. You can also see him perform every 1st and 3rd Wednesday night at The Second City Hollywood with musical improv troupe, the A Team.

Additionally, Scott has written various pilots that have received accolades at contests and festivals. Most recently, his “Digiverse Hotel” pilot was a semifinalist for both the 2019 Screencraft Fellowship contest and 2019 Film Empire Pilot Contest. His “Lady President” pilot was a quarterfinalist at the Winter 2020 Los Angeles International Screenwriting Awards.

Aside from comedy, Scott loves music, fancy fonts, crossword puzzles, conspiracy theories, ordering Chinese food in the rain, and raising awareness for LGBTQ rights and equal justice activist groups in his community.
